How Chiropractic Care Works for Pain Relief

Most typically for patients that come in with pain, after their initial evaluation, we will start treatment that day.  We order x-rays and MRIs only when indicated, not on every patient. Chiropractic treatment plans typically include more frequent visits at the beginning of care, and as healing begins, visits are less often.  For an acute episode 6-12 visits is a common starting point.  Of course all care plans depend on the injury, and the health of the patient.

Common Questions about Chiropractic for Pain Relief

I have heard once I start chiropractic, I have to keep going back. What’s the scoop?

Typically a treatment plan will include more than one visit, often it’s up to 12 visits for common pain conditions. Tissue healing takes time, ligaments heal at varying rates and need to be supported during that time. Your care is always up to you, we provide clinical guidelines to help you with your decisions.

I don’t like the idea of getting “cracked”.

Fantastic – that’s only used sometimes, and with your understanding why it’s being done. No surprises here.  There are over 100 different chiropractic techniques, and we will use a style that is comfortable for you.

I have had x-rays or other imaging already, should I bring them?

Yes, please bring reports and/or discs of what you have had done in the last 12 months, it saves time gathering these records from other providers.
